Terms and Conditions

This Samsung Extended Warranty Plan (the "Plan") extends the original manufacturer's warranty for the additional warranty period selected and purchased by the purchaser. The additional warranty period is based on the extended warranty purchase plan. The extended warranty is indicated on the proof of purchase and extended warranty certificate. This Plan commences on the expiry date of the original manufacturer's warranty. This Plan covers repairs of any defective component part of the product, subject to the terms and conditions contained in the original manufacturer's warranty and the terms and conditions contained herein.
The Plan is subject to the following conditions:
  1. 1. The Plan may be purchased at any time prior to the expiry of the original manufacturer's warranty (up until a maximum of 12 months) accompanying the purchased product (exception applies to British Columbia as per provincial legislation, where the Plan must be purchased within thirty (30) days from the original product purchase date.). Samsung Electronics Canada Inc. may remove any product from being eligible to purchase the Plan at any time prior to purchase as it determines in its sole discretion. The Samsung Extended Warranty cannot be purchased for Refurbished Product, Commercial Product and/or Commercial Use. Samsung Electronics Canada Inc. reserves the right to change, delete or add Samsung products covered by this Plan at any time prior to purchase as it determines in its sole discretion and to revise, amend, suspend and terminate the Plan in its sole discretion.
  2. 2. The Plan does not cover wear and tear, defects or damage resulting from accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, unusual physical damage, liquid damage, cosmetic damage, or unauthorized modification of the product, including any changes or enhancements in colour, texture or finish.
  3. 3. The Plan does not cover in-box accessories or additional accessories purchased , including batteries, chargers, USB cables, S Pen, SD Card, SIM Card, cases, HDTV Adapters, Bluetooth device, battery cover, face plates, screen protectors, personalized data, customized software, ringtones, games, screen savers, add-on devices, ancillary/peripheral equipment, setup or installation, adjustments to the antenna system, cleaning of components or routine maintenance or damage or loss caused by the use of the foregoing.
  4. 4. The Plan does not cover failure due to computer viruses or similar unauthorized intrusive codes or programming.
  5. 5. The Plan does not cover any loss or damages (including loss of use, loss of profit, or incidental expenses) caused by the failure of the product, loss of use of the product or the repair, faulty repair or replacement of the product, even if such loss or damages are attributable to or caused by the fault or negligence of Samsung Electronics Canada Inc. or its affiliates or any of their employees, agents, service providers, suppliers or subcontractors.
  6. 6. If Samsung Electronics Canada Inc. determines that any product or any repair or replacement completed is not covered by the Plan, Samsung Electronics Canada Inc. may offer to make the repair or replacement provided that purchaser shall be responsible for all costs incurred including without limitation, the cost of all parts, shipping and labour charges for the repair or return or replacement of the product. Samsung will provide purchaser with a written estimate of all such costs before making such repair or replacement.
  7. 7. Samsung Electronics Canada Inc.'s liability under this Plan is limited to the greater of the cost of the necessary repairs or the replacement cost of the product. THIS IS YOUR SOLE REMEDY FOR ANY ERRORS, OMISSIONS, FAILURE OR NEGLIGENCE OF SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CANADA INC. OR ITS AFFILIATES OR ANY OF THEIR AGENTS OR SERVICE PROVIDERS' PERFORMANCE. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CANADA INC. OR ITS AFFILIATES OR ANY OF THEIR EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, SUPPLIERS, SUBCONTRACTORS, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, OR SHAREHOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, SUCH AS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, LOSS OF REVENUE OR ANTICIPATED PROFITS OR LOST BUSINESS (EVEN IF ADVISED OF OR HAVE FORESEEN THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES) ARISING FROM THE PLAN OR ANY ACTION TAKEN OR FAILED TO BE TAKEN IN CONNECTION WITH THE PLAN OR UNDER ANY PROVISION OF THE PLAN.
  8. 8. EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE EXPRESSLY STATED IN THIS CONTRACT, OR AS REQUIRED UNDER ANY APPLICABLE CONSUMER PROTECTION LAW, SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CANADA INC. HEREBY SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, REGARDING THE PLAN AND THE SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED PURSUANT TO THE PLAN, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF TITLE, MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR COURSE OF PERFORMANCE.
  9. 9. Samsung Electronics Canada Inc.'s obligations under this Plan are continued if a replacement product is issued when deemed necessary by Samsung Electronics Canada Inc. and this Plan will continue to be in effect upon such replacement until the end of the Plan warranty expiry date.
  10. 10. The Plan applies only to the original purchaser of the product, except as may otherwise be stated in this Plan.
  11. 11. Where applicable, the purchaser may be required to pay deposit and/or other fees applicable to any product loaned to purchaser temporarily while a product is being serviced under this Plan.
  12. 12. If no claims are made under the Plan during the warranty period, the purchase price paid for the Plan is not refundable, except as may otherwise be stated in this Plan.
  13. 13. Except as modified herein, the terms and conditions contained in the original manufacturer's warranty will also apply to the Plan.
  14. 14. Extended warranty is available for purchase online.
  15. 15. Gas appliances are not eligible for extended warranty purchase within Canada.
  16. 16. CANCELLATION AND REFUND :
    The extended warranty plan is eligible for a refund within thirty (30) days of the extended warranty purchase date. A refund will not be granted if the date of refund exceeds thirty (30) days from the extended warranty purchase date.   17. 17. TRANSFER :
    1. (i) Extended warranty is transferable to another user with the same device model and serial number as the original extended warranty purchase certificate. Any transfer must include the original proof of purchase and the extended warranty certificate issued for that device. The party receiving the extended warranty hereby accepts the Terms and Conditions of the Samsung Smart Service extended warranty plan upon any such transfer from the original purchaser.
    2. (ii) Transfer from original product with extended warranty plan to a new product can be made by calling 1-800-SAMSUNG (726-7864) or Text to WE CARE (932 273) or chat with us at www.samsung.com/ca/livechat. You may transfer Samsung extended warranty plan to the new product within thirty (30) days of the date of purchase of the new product. Samsung will issue a new extended warranty certificate for the new product. When notifying Samsung Electronics Canada of the transfer, you must provide the original certificate number and/or serial numbers and proof of purchase of the new product. .
  18. 18. RESELLER: Bulk pre-purchase of extended warranty is currently not available. Extended warranty plan is valid from the actual product purchase date to the consumer. Warranties must be purchased per single end user. Multiple extended warranty plans can be purchased per single end user per product serial/IMEI number at the same time. Purchases in bulk of the Plan can only be completed online per single end user per order.
  19. CLAIM PROCEDURE
    To obtain service under this Plan, purchaser must call 1-800-SAMSUNG (726-7864). Proof of purchase is required to verify Plan coverage and eligibility before any service can be offered. If the original product purchase date that you provided when purchasing the plan is incorrect, your service claim will be denied. The plan is administered and provided by Samsung Electronics Canada Inc.
These Terms and Conditions form the service agreement between Samsung Electronics Canada Inc. ("We", "Us" and "Our") and you, Our customer ("You" and "Your") with respect to this Samsung Care+ plan ("Plan"). The head office of Samsung Electronics Canada Inc. is located at 2050 Derry Road West, Mississauga, Ontario, L5N 0B9.

By purchasing this Plan, You expressly agree that You have had the opportunity to read these Terms and Conditions and that You accept these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions and the confirmation letterYou will receive containing the description of Your eligible device(s) for which this Plan was purchased ("Confirmation Letter"), constitute the entire agreement between You and Us. No oral or written representations, warranties or conditions, and no amendment or modification of these Terms and Conditions will be binding on You or on Us, except as otherwise required by law.
The Plan is subject to the following conditions:
  1. What Device Is Protected by this Plan?
    Your device protected by the Plan is the Samsung tablet You purchased new in Canada (?Device?), as specified on the Confirmation Letter.
    Only the Device for which this Plan was purchased as indicated on the Confirmation Letter is eligible for protection under the Plan. You cannot transfer the Plan to another person or business, or to another Device.
  2. When Can You Purchase the Plan?
    You can purchase the Plan only at the time You purchase Your Device or within 30 days of Your Device purchase date.
    If you do not purchase the Plan at the same time as You purchase Your Device but purchase the Plan within the 30 days following Your Device purchase date, a 25-day waiting period will apply before You can request services under the Plan.
  3. When Does Plan Protection Begin and End?
    Your protection begins on the date You purchase the Plan, as indicated in the Confirmation Letter, and continues for 24 months, unless this Plan is cancelled in accordance with the section entitled "Can this Plan be Cancelled?".
    Your Device is protected by the manufacturer's warranty in the first year after Device purchase and this Plan extends the mechanical malfunction or defect coverage for an additional year. From the time of Plan purchase and for the full term of the Plan, your Device is covered for physical or liquid damage in accordance with the section entitled "Description of Our Plan".
    We are not responsible and have no obligations to You for any issues with Your Device arising from an event that occurs before You purchase the Plan or after the Plan ends, whether by cancellation or expiry.
  4. Description of Our Plan
    This Plan complements and is supplementary to the manufacturer's warranty, but does not replace the manufacturer's warranty or warranty obligations during the manufacturer's warranty period. Parts and services covered by the manufacturer's warranty and the warranty obligations under the manufacturer's warranty, including battery replacements, are the responsibility of the manufacturer only. This Plan provides certain additional protection which the manufacturer may not provide. Please refer to the terms and conditions of the manufacturer's warranty for more details.
    In the event Your Device suffers a mechanical malfunction or defect, including battery failure, that is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty during the term of such warranty, or Your Device suffers physical or liquid damage that renders it inoperable, We will repair Your Device and return it to normal operating conditions. At Our sole option, We may choose to replace Your Device rather than repair it.
    If Device failure is due to physical or liquid damage, this Plan provides a maximum of two (2) service requests throughout the lifetime of the Plan. There are no limits for service requests due to mechanical malfunction or defects, provided they are not protected by the manufacturer's warranty.
    If We replace Your Device, Your Device will be replaced with a refurbished Samsung tablet of like kind and quality and with comparable features and functionality, but not necessarily of the same colour, and not to exceed the current value of Your Device as determined by Us. Standard accessories included with Your Device in the original manufacturer's packaging will only be replaced when incompatible with the replacement device. All parts and Devices that have been replaced by a replacement part or device become Our property. Protection under this Plan will be extended to the replacement device for the duration of time remaining under this Plan. The replacement device will become the protected Device. Any repair covered under this Plan may only be performed by a Samsung authorized service center.
  5. Plan Purchase Price
    The Plan purchase price is $99.00, plus applicable taxes, and is payable when You purchase the Plan.
  6. How To Request Services
    Call Us at 1-877-699-1356 24 hours / 7 days per week (including holidays) to initiate a service request. You may be required to provide Us with the original Confirmation Letter or with any other information We may reasonably request. A service fee of $49.00, plus applicable taxes, will apply to each service request.
    Upon processing Your service request, We will supply You with a return courier package which You must use to ship Your defective or inoperable Device to Us for repair.
  7. Before providing Your Device for service, YOU MUST:
    1. 1. if possible, remove any screen lock application (PIN, touch ID, or password);
    2. 2. deactivate any Activation Lock, such as Google Activation Lock or any other Activation Lock application in the market; and
    3. 3. remove any removable cards such as media and SIM Cards.
    Please note that failure to deactivate any Activation Lock may result in a delay in repairing Your Device.
    It is Your responsibility to remove Your SIM and memory card, and any accessories, if possible, and to delete all personal or sensitive data from the Device before You ship it. It is Your responsibility to back up the contents of Your Device. We will not be responsible for the loss of any programs, data, or other information stored on Your Device or any media (For Quebec only: The foregoing is not intended to liberate Us from the consequences of Our own acts or the acts of Our representatives.) This Plan does not include restoration of data to Your Device or, if applicable, its replacement under this Plan.
  8. What Is Not Protected by the Plan?
    The Plan does not apply to and We do not provide services for:
    1. 1. mechanical failures or defects or battery failures covered by the manufacturer's warranty during the term of such warranty;
    2. 2. data sticks;
    3. 3. Devices with removed, altered or defaced serial numbers or International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers;
    4. 4. Devices used for commercial purposes, provided by You for use by the general public, or used for lease or rental. Use of a Device for these purposes will void this Plan;
    5. 5. incidental, indirect, or consequential damages, including, but not limited to, loss of profits, down-time and charges for time and effort (except as otherwise required by law);
    6. 6. any loss or amount other than the repair or, if applicable and at Our sole option, the replacement of the Device;
    7. 7. Device malfunction resulting from intentional physical damage, abuse, misuse, or vandalism;
    8. 8. Device malfunction or damage resulting from repairs conducted by other parties;
    9. 9. Device malfunction or damage due to improper installation on, or improper equipment modifications to the Device;
    10. 10. lost end-user replaceable parts;
    11. 11. accessories, except, if we replace the Device, if the original accessories are not compatible with the replacement Device;
    12. 12. accessories that do not come with Your Device in the original manufacturer's package, including, but not limited to, car chargers, Bluetooth headsets, and face plates;
    13. 13. "No problem found" or "no fault found" type diagnosis and intermittent errors that cannot be reproduced;
    14. 14. Devices purchased as used recertified, or refurbished devices;
    15. 15. minor imperfections in devices that meet design specifications or cosmetic damage (including but not limited to scratches and dents) that do not affect functionality of the Device;
    16. 16. replacement SIM card or related item; or
    17. 17. any malfunction or damage occurring (i) prior to the purchase date of the Plan or (ii) after this Plan is cancelled or expired.
  9. Can This Plan be Cancelled?
    You may cancel this Plan within the first 30 days from the date You purchased the Plan by calling 1-800-SAMSUNG or Text to WECARE(932-273), 24 hours / 7 days per week (including holidays). You may be entitled to a refund as follows:
    1. 1. if You have not obtained services under the Plan, You will receive a full refund of the purchase price of the Plan.
    2. 2. If You have obtained services under the Plan, You will receive a refund of the purchase price of the Plan, less the cost of services received (unless otherwise prohibited by law).
    After the first 30 day period, You cannot cancel the Plan and no refund will be provided (unless otherwise prohibited by law).
    We may cancel the Plan on the basis of (a) fraud or misrepresentation by You in submitting a service request; (b) commercial or rental use of the Device; (c) an unauthorized repair of Your Device; or (d) transfer of the Device by You to another person or business.
  10. Limitation Of Liability
    Our liability under this Plan is strictly limited to the repair to or, if applicable and at our sole option, the replacement of Your Device. If You pay for the costs of repair or replacement of the Device, We will not reimburse You for such costs. We are not liable for any loss of programs, data, or other information stored on Your Device or any media. In no event will We be liable to You or any third party for any damages resulting from, or relating directly or indirectly to, Your Plan, including, but not limited to, any damages You may suffer if data left on your Device is accessed, or alternatively, is unrecoverable. (For Quebec only: The foregoing is not intended to liberate Us from the consequences of Our own acts or the acts of Our representatives.)
  11. Your Privacy
    We are committed to the protection of your privacy, including the information you share with respect to the Plan. You agree and acknowledge that you may be asked certain personal information, such as your name, telephone number, address, IMEI number, and other personally identifiable information when you register the Plan and when you request and receive service in connection with the Plan. Samsung may share certain information with its business partners to facilitate any repairs in connection with the Plan. Your use of the Plan is subject to Samsung's Privacy Policy, located at http://www.samsung.com/ca/info/privacy/ ("Privacy Policy"), as well as other policies that Samsung may adopt from time to time, all of which are hereby incorporated by this reference into the Plan. The Privacy Policy governs how Samsung collects and uses your information and information related to your use of the Plan. Samsung may update the Privacy Policy from time to time, so please periodically review the Privacy Policy
  12. Your use of the Plan is subject to Samsungs Privacy Policy, located at http://www.samsung.com/ca/info/privacy/ ("Privacy Policy"), as well as other policies that Samsung may adopt from time to time, all of which are hereby incorporated by this reference into the Plan. The Privacy Policy governs how Samsung collects and uses your information and information related to your use of the Plan. Samsung may update the Privacy Policy from time to time, so please periodically review the Privacy Policy.

  2. When Can You Purchase the Plan?

    You can purchase the Plan only at the time You purchase Your Device (“Device Purchase Date”) or within 60 days of the Device Purchase Date.

    If you do not purchase the Plan at the same time as You purchase Your Device but purchase the Plan within the 30 days following Your Device purchase date, a 25-day waiting period will apply before You can request services under the Plan.

  3. When Does Plan Protection Begin and End?

    Protection begins on the date You purchase the Plan and ends the earlier of:

    1. 24 months from the Device Purchase Date; and
    2. the date this Plan is cancelled in accordance with the section entitled “Can this Plan be Cancelled?”.

    Repair services will not be provided for any damage or malfunction occurring more than 24 months from the Device Purchase Date.

    If You purchase the Plan within sixty (60) days of the Device Purchase Date,a 25-day waiting period will apply before You can request services under the Plan but coverage begins on the date You purchase the Plan.".

    Your Device is protected by the manufacturer's warranty in the first year after Device purchase and this Plan extends the mechanical malfunction or defect coverage for an additional year. From the time of Plan purchase and for the full term of the Plan, your Device is covered for physical or liquid damage in accordance with the section entitled ?Description of Our Plan?.

  4. Description of the Plan

    The Plan purchase price, plus applicable taxes, is payable when You purchase the Plan. If You purchase the Plan from a Canadian authorized retailer, please refer to the place of purchase for the applicable Plan purchase price.



  6. How To Request Services

    Call Us at 1-877-699-1356 24 hours / 7 days per week (including holidays) to initiate a service request. You may be required to provide Us with the original Confirmation Letter or with any other information We may reasonably request. A service fee of $249, plus applicable taxes, will apply to each service request as follows:

    The service fee is determined by the device tier based on the make and model of Your Device. To find Your Device’s tier, please refer to the Confirmation Letter or call Us at 1-877-699-1356.

    Upon processing Your service request, We will supply you with a return courier package which You must use to ship Your defective or inoperable Device to Us for repair.

  7. Before providing Your Device for service, YOU MUST:

    1. remove any screen lock application (PIN, touch ID, or password);
    2. deactivate any active remote lock functions;
    3. remove all confidential, proprietary and personal information; and
    4. remove all removable media, such as CDs, DVDs or PC Cards, or internet sticks.



    You are responsible for backing up and removing all data, programs,applications, settings, software, personal files, and any other information (collectively, the “Contents”) installed and/or stored in Your Device and restoring Your Device to its factory default settings prior to shipping Your Device for repair services.

    PLEASE NOTE: DURING THE REPAIR SERVICES, WE WILL RESET YOUR DEVICE,REMOVE ANY REMAINING CONTENTS, AND REINSTALL THE ORIGINAL SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION, INCLUDING ANY REQUIRED UPDATES, WHICH WILL RESULT IN THE PERMANENT LOSS OF ALL CONTENTS THAT WERE INSTALLED OR STORED IN YOUR DEVICE PRIOR TO THE REPAIR SERVICES.Your Device will be returned to You configured as originally purchased, subject to applicable updates. Third-party applications/software previously installed in the Device may not be compatible or properly function with the Device as a result of required updates to the original software configuration.

    This Plan does not include restoration of data to Your Device.

  8. What Is Not Protected by the Plan?

    The Plan does not apply to and We do not provide services for:

    1. mechanical failures or defects or battery failures covered by the manufacturer's warranty during the term of such warranty;
    2. data sticks;
    3. Devices with removed, altered or defaced serial numbers;
    4. Devices used for commercial purposes, provided by You for use by the general public, or used for lease or rental. Use of a Device for these purposes will void this Plan;
    5. except as otherwise required by law, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages, including, but not limited to, loss of profits, down-time and charges for time and effort;
    6. any loss or amount other than the repair or, if applicable and at Our sole option, the replacement of the Device;
    7. Device malfunction resulting from intentional physical damage, abuse, misuse, or vandalism;
    8. Device malfunction or damage resulting from repairs conducted by other parties;
    9. Device malfunction or damage due to improper installation on, or improper equipment modifications to the Device;
    10. Device where, for any reason whatsoever, we are unable to validate the IMEI or serial number of the Device including but not limited to intentional or accidental damage such as Device being crushed, bent,falling from heights such as balconies or windows, being run over or falling from moving vehicles;
    11. lost or stolen Devices;
    12. lost end-user replaceable parts;
    13. accessories, except, if We replace the Device, if the original accessories are not compatible with the replacement Device;
    14. accessories that do not come with Your Device in the original manufacturer’s package;
    15. “No problem found” or “no fault found” type diagnosis and intermittent errors that cannot be reproduced;
    16. Devices purchased as used recertified, or refurbished devices;
    17. pixel burnout not in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines;
    18. viruses or malware, software generated problems;
    19. software and data in the event of a power surge;
    20. minor imperfections in devices that meet design specifications or cosmetic damage (including but not limited to scratches and dents) that do not affect functionality of the Device;
    21. memory card or related item; or
    22.any malfunction or damage occurring (i) prior to the purchase date of the Plan, or (ii) after this Plan is cancelled or expired.



  9. Can This Plan be Cancelled?

    (a) Cancellation by You:

    Quebec Residents: In circumstances where this Plan is governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, this section does not apply to You, and You may cancel this Plan in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec.
    You may cancel this Plan within the first 30 days from the date You purchased the Plan. You may be entitled to a refund as follows:

    1. if You have not obtained services under the Plan, You will receive a full refund of the purchase price of the Plan.
    2. If You have obtained services under the Plan, You will receive a refund of the purchase price of the Plan, less the cost of services received (unless otherwise prohibited by law).

    After the first 30-day period, You cannot cancel the Plan and no refund will be provided (unless otherwise prohibited by law).

    (b) How You Can Cancel The Plan:

    You may request a cancellation of the Plan as follows:
    1. If You purchased the Plan online through Us, call 1-800-SAMSUNG (726-7864) or send a text to WECARE (932-273), 24 hours / 7 days per week (including holidays).
    2. If You purchased the Plan from a Samsung Experience Store, contact any Samsung Experience Store location in Canada.
    3. If You purchased the Plan at a retail location, You must contact that retailer.

    (c) Cancellation By Us

    We may cancel the Plan on the basis of (a) fraud or misrepresentation by You in submitting a service request; (b) commercial or rental use of the Device; (c) an unauthorized repair of Your Device;



  10. Limitation Of Liability

    Quebec Residents:In circumstances where this Plan is governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, some or all of the below limitations may not apply to you.

    Our liability under this Plan is strictly limited to the repair or, if applicable and at our sole option, the replacement of Your Device. If You pay for the costs of repair or replacement of the Device, We will not reimburse You for such costs. We are not liable for any loss of programs, data, or other information stored on Your Device or any media. In no event will We be liable to You or any third party for any damages resulting from, or relating directly or indirectly to, Your Plan, including, but not limited to, any damages You may suffer if data left on your Device is accessed, or alternatively, is unrecoverable.

  11. Your Privacy

  12. We are committed to the protection of Your privacy, including the information You share with respect to the Plan. You agree and acknowledge that You may be asked certain personal information, such as Your name, telephone number, address, serial number, and other personally identifiable information when You register the Plan and when You request and receive service in connection with the Plan. Samsung may share certain information with its business partners to facilitate any repairs in connection with the Plan. Your use of the Plan is subject to Samsung’s Privacy Policy, located at http://www.samsung.com/ca/info/privacy/ (“Privacy Policy”), as well as other policies that Samsung may adopt from time to time, all of which are hereby incorporated by this reference into the Plan. The Privacy Policy governs how Samsung collects and uses Your information and information related to Your use of the Plan. Samsung may update the Privacy Policy from time to time, so please periodically review the Privacy Policy.

(“We”, “Us” and “Our”) and you, Our customer (“You” and “Your”) with respect to this Samsung Care+ plan (“Plan”). By purchasing this Plan, You expressly agree that You have had the opportunity to read these Terms and Conditions and that You accept these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions and the confirmation letter You will receive containing the description of Your eligible device(s) for which this Plan was purchased (“Confirmation Letter”), constitute the entire agreement between You and Us. No oral or written representations, warranties or conditions, and no amendment or modification of these Terms and Conditions will be binding on You or on Us, except as otherwise required by law.
  1. What Device Is Protected by this Plan?

    Your device protected by the Plan is the Samsung smartphone, tablet, or wearable device* You purchased new in Canada ("Device"), as specified on the Confirmation Letter.

    Only the Device for which this Plan was purchased as indicated on the Confirmation Letter is eligible for protection under the Plan. This Plan may be transferred to a subsequent owner of the Device at no additional charge. There are no restrictions provided Your Plan is valid at the time of such transfer and You comply with the terms of this Plan. To transfer, call 1-877-699-1356. You must provide the name of the person to whom this Plan is being transferred. To complete the transfer, the transferee must contact Us to provide an address,email, and phone number. You cannot transfer the Plan to another Device.

    * This Plan is available on select eligible wearable devices only. To see a list of eligible wearable devices, please visit https://support-ca.samsung.com/secaew/consumer/ca/category/categorymainformc and follow the instructions.
  2. When Can You Purchase the Plan?

    You can purchase the Plan only at the time You purchase Your Device (“Device Purchase Date”) or within 60 days of the Device Purchase Date.If you purchase the Plan from Samsung.com/ca, your device must have been registered and activated with a Canadian wireless service provider within the sixty (60) days of the Device Purchase Date.

    If You purchase the Plan within sixty (60) days of the Device Purchase Date, a 25-day waiting period will apply before You can request services under the Plan.
  3. When Does Plan Protection Begin and End?

    Protection begins on the date you purchase the Plan and ends the earlier of:

    1. 24 months from the Device Purchase Date; and
    2. the date this Plan is cancelled in accordance with the section entitled "Can this Plan be Cancelled?".

    Repair services will not be provided for any damage or malfunction occurring more than 24 months from the Device Purchase Date.

    If you purchase the Plan within sixty (60) days of the Device Purchase Date, a 25-day waiting period will apply before You can request services under the Plan but coverage begins on the date You purchase the Plan.

    Your Device is protected by the manufacturer’s warranty within the first year after Your Device is purchased and this Plan extends the mechanical malfunction or defect coverage for an additional year. From the time of Plan purchase and for the full term of the Plan, Your Device is covered for physical or liquid damage in accordance with the section entitled "Description of Our Plan".

    We are not responsible and have no obligations to You for any issues with Your Device arising from an event that occurs before You purchase the Plan or after the Plan ends, whether by cancellation or expiry.
  4. Description of the Plan

    This Plan complements and is supplementary to the manufacturer's warranty, but does not replace the manufacturer's warranty or warranty obligations during the manufacturer's warranty period. Parts and services covered by the manufacturer's warranty and the warranty obligations under the manufacturer's warranty, including battery replacements, are the responsibility of the manufacturer only. This Plan provides certain additional protection which the manufacturer may not provide. Please refer to the terms and conditions of the manufacturer's warranty for more details.

    In the event Your Device suffers a mechanical malfunction or defect, including battery failure, that is not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, or Your Device suffers physical or liquid damage that renders it inoperable, We will repair Your Device and return it to normal operating conditions. At Our sole option, We may choose to replace Your Device rather than repair it.

    If Device failure is due to physical or liquid damage, this Plan provides a maximum of two (2) service requests every 12 months immediately following the Device Purchase Date to a maximum of four (4) service requests throughout the lifetime of the Plan. There are no limits for service requests due to mechanical malfunction or defects, provided they are not protected by the manufacturer’s warranty.

    If We replace Your Device, Your Device will be replaced with a refurbished Samsung device of like kind and quality and with comparable features and functionality, but not necessarily of the same colour, and not to exceed the current value of Your Device as determined by Us. Standard accessories included with Your Device in the original manufacturer’s packaging will only be replaced when incompatible with the replacement device. All parts and Devices that have been replaced by a replacement part or device become Our property. Protection under this Plan will be extended to the replacement device for the duration of time remaining under this Plan. The replacement device will become the protected Device. Any repair covered under this Plan may only be performed by a Samsung authorized service center.
  5. Plan Purchase Price

     The Plan purchase price, plus applicable taxes, is payable when You purchase the Plan. If you purchase the Plan at a Samsung Experience Store or online through Samsung.com/ca, the Plan purchase price for Your Device is located at the following link: https://www.samsung.com/ca/offer/samsung-care-plus/. If you purchase the Plan from a Canadian authorized retailer, please refer to the place of purchase for the applicable Plan purchase price.






  6. How To Request Services

    Call Us at 1-877-699-1356 24 hours / 7 days per week (including holidays) to initiate a service request. You may be required to provide Us with the original Confirmation Letter or with any other information We may reasonably request. A service fee, plus applicable taxes, will apply to each service request as follows:

    1For Galaxy Z Fold3 5G devices, a service fee of $39 will apply to service requests for exterior screen-only damage. For Galaxy Z Flip3 5G devices, a service fee of $39 will apply to service requests for exterior screen-only or back glass-only damage. Devices with any other damage will be subject to the full Service Fee. The full Service Fee of $189 for Galaxy Z Fold3 5G devices and $79 for Galaxy Z Flip3 5G devices, as outlined in the table above, will be collected at time of service request. Upon inspection of your Galaxy Z Fold3 5G device or your Galaxy Z Flip3 5G device, as applicable, and confirmation of eligibility for the reduced service fee, a refund of the difference will be processed.

    The service fee for Tablets and Smartphones is determined by the device tier based on the make and model of Your Device. To find Your Device’s tier, please refer to the Confirmation Letter or call Us at 1-877-699-1356.

    Upon processing Your service request, We will supply you with a return courier package which You must use to ship Your defective or inoperable Device to Us for repair.

    Expedited repair services at an authorized walk-in repair centre may be available for certain repairs in or near Your geographical location. We will offer You this option if available.
  7. Before providing Your Device for service, YOU MUST:

    1. if possible, remove any screen lock application (PIN, touch ID, or password);
    2. deactivate any Activation Lock, such as Google Activation Lock or any other Activation Lock application in the market; and
    3. remove any removable cards such as media and SIM Cards.

    Please note that failure to deactivate any Activation Lock may result in a delay in repairing Your Device.

    It is Your responsibility to remove Your SIM and memory card, and any accessories, if possible, and to delete all personal or sensitive data from the Device before You ship it. It is Your responsibility to back up the contents of Your Device.

    6. any loss or amount other than the repair or, if applicable and at Our sole option, the replacement of the Device;
    7. Device malfunction resulting from intentional physical damage, abuse, misuse, or vandalism;
    8. Device malfunction or damage resulting from repairs conducted by other parties;
    9. Device malfunction or damage due to improper installation on, or improper equipment modifications to the Device;
    10. Device where, for any reason whatsoever, we are unable to validate the IMEI or serial number of the Device including but not limited to intentional or accidental damage such as Device being crushed, bent, falling from heights such as balconies or windows, being run over or falling from moving vehicles;

    13. accessories, except, if We replace the Device, if the original accessories are not compatible with the replacement Device;
    14. straps and strap components (including, but not limited to buckles, clasps, spring bars, and pins);
    15. accessories that do not come with Your Device in the original manufacturer’s package, including, but not limited to, car chargers, Bluetooth headsets, and face plates;
    16. “No problem found” or “no fault found” type diagnosis and intermittent errors that cannot be reproduced;
    17. Devices purchased as used recertified, or refurbished devices;
    18. minor imperfections in devices that meet design specifications or cosmetic damage (including but not limited to scratches and dents) that do not affect functionality of the Device;
    19. replacement SIM card or related item; or
    20. any malfunction or damage occurring (i) prior to the purchase date of the Plan or (ii) after this Plan is cancelled or expired.
